The First Lady opened the women's football festival. "You are a model of ambition."

Your passion, energy and bravery prove that football is not just a male domain – said the First Lady of the Republic of Poland, Marta Nawrocka, on Saturday during the 4th Podkarpackie Women's Football Festival in Tarnobrzeg (Podkarpackie Voivodeship).

“You are models of ambition, determination and true team strength,” the first lady said to the players.

Marta Nawrocka noted that "this unique event shows how well this discipline is developing among women." "Sport is not just about competition – it's also about friendship, joy, community, and immense emotion," the Chancellery of the President of the Republic of Poland quoted the First Lady on Platform X.

The Podkarpackie Women's Football Festival is the only tournament of its kind in Poland. Participants include teams representing football clubs training for girls and women in various age groups, from the youngest to the most senior.

"I wish you great goals, beautiful emotions, and the fulfillment of your sporting dreams. Good luck," added Marta Nawrocka during the opening of the Festival, which she is patronizing. It was also the first official address by the First Lady of Poland, who began her public duties in her new role two weeks ago.

Łukasz Witek, advisor to the President of the Republic of Poland, who is responsible for sports in the Chancellery, pointed out the need to support such events during a conversation with journalists in Tarnobrzeg.

The festival is organized by the Podkarpackie Football Association. Mieczysław Golba, president of the association, is one of the closest associates of PZPN president Cezary Kulesza. Golba is also a politician, a former member of parliament, and a senator of the Republic of Poland for three terms (elected in 2023, as before, from the Law and Justice party). (PAP)
